2010 Scholarship Applications

Music Scholarships

Scholarships in band, orchestra, choir and voice, and keyboard instruments are available by audition. Scholarship auditions are held in the Tom & Peggy Wright Music Building on the SFA campus at several scheduled times during the fall and spring semester. In the event of conflicts, special audition times may be arranged.

Eligibility:

Students must meet the entrance requirements of the University, must not have accepted a scholarship from another university, and must have a minimum high school grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalency.

Scholarships are awarded in all areas of study in the School of Music to qualified students, and in some areas, to both majors and non-majors.

Vocalists, pianists, and string players unable to audition on the dates listed above should call, email, or write the coordinators to set up a make-up audition:

Several forms of financial aid are available to students. This aid may be received in the form of a direct scholarship, grant, loan, college work-study job, or a combination of these programs. In addition to the music scholarships listed on this page, students are encouraged to review additional scholarships offered through the university for which they may well qualify. Some scholarships are based on class rank or transferring college GPA. Most applications for university scholarships must be filed with the Office of Student Financial Assistance no later than February 1.
