Jump start your new repertoire for the Fall 2017 semester at the SFA piano in the Pines Summer camp by working with a friendly faculty with international experience. The beautiful Stephen F. Austin State University campus provides many recreational opportunities to balance out an intensive week of private lessons, master classes, ensemble work, and performances. Pianists should bring at least one memorized piece to be played in the final recital, plus an additional solo or concerto work presently being studied. Faculty will help pianists improve the memorized performance piece they bring to the camp and also assist with additional solo works or concerti that are “in progress.” Students should be in (rising) grades 7-12.

For more information, email the camp director, Mario Ajero, at ajeromp@sfasu.edu or call 936.468.1389.

SFA Summer Piano Competition

To kick off the 2017 SFA Piano in the Pines Camp, for the first time we are hosting the SFA Summer Piano Competition on Sunday July 16 for rising 7th to 12th grade pianists. Competition participants can be in the piano camp, but it is also open to camp non-participants. Judge’s critique sheets will be given to all competition participants and awards given to outstanding performances. Pianists should prepare two memorized pieces of contrasting style. See the SFA Summer Piano Competition page for more information and registration.

You may also register for the competition simultaneously when registering for the piano camp online. Camp attendees pay the discounted competition registration fee.
