Who is
the SFASU Color Guard?
The SFASU Color Guard is an organization of talented and dedicated
students who march with the Lumberjack Marching Band. They primarily
spin flags and incorporate dance into every show throughout the season.

Do I have
to have prior color guard experience?
Experience spinning with other color guards and dance experience
is preferred, and placement on the guard is by audition.
Will I
have time for this?
Yes! While the SFASU Color Guard requires dedication for the
entire fall semester, the schedule is very manageable and student-friendly.
(Monday-Thursday 3:30-5:30 PM - concurrent with the LMB rehearsals)

Are there
financial obligations?
There are minor costs (such as shoes, bags, etc.), but these
costs usually do not exceed $100 and are comparable to the costs of
being in any of the LMB sections.
What kinds
of shows does SFASU perform?
SFASU marches two styles of marching: military and corps-style.
Our corps shows in the past have included everything from swing music
to classical selections to Latin jazz.

When are
auditions?
Auditions are August 21 - 25, 2006. Anyone interested should contact
the band office by sending a request for more information or emailing
us at lumberjackband@sfasu.edu.
We will send you more details about the audition requirements at that
time.
The Color Guard
is an integral part of the Lumberjack Marching Band, providing the
primary visual effect of the shows. They travel and attend every
event with the LMB. The band recently traveled to Austin and New
Orleans.
