The Choral Union, under the direction of David Howard, is an auditioned 75-voice mixed chorus comprised of music majors and talented non-music majors at Stephen F. Austin State University. The Choral Union performs a wide range of repertoire from renaissance polyphony to contemporary unaccompanied works.
In recent years The Choral Union has collaborated with the A Cappella Choir, Women’s Choir and the Orchestra of the Pines for performances of large-scale choral/orchestral works including Handel’s Messiah, Verdi’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Haydn’s Creation, and Mozart’s Requiem.
