Camps & Outreach

The SFA School of Music is dedicated to serving the University, community and region by enriching the quality of life through the presentation of numerous concerts, recitals, and other musical programs. In addition, the school conducts several summer music camps for junior high and high school students, as well as a variety of community outreach programs.

The summer music camps include: Middle School Band Camp, High School Band Camp, Drum Major Camp, String Camp, and All-State Choir Music Camp. During the rest of the year, many music faculty members are active in reaching out to the community by teaching in the Music Preparatory Division, providing concerts and instruction in the Music in the Schools program and the East Texas Honors Orchestra, and by sharing their teaching ideas and tips in the Texas School Music Project, an on-line resource for music educators and students.
